Sorry it is taking me so long to figure this out, but did I misunderstand your directions? Unable to send or receive messages for the Comcast account. But when I try to receive an email by hitting send/receive I get: I assumed (incorrectly?) that this was the "Mail stores" folder you mentioned and I deleted everything in it and then restarted Live Mail with the new account settings you directed me to enter. I don't see a folder called "Mail Stores," but I do see a folder that is called "Comcast (in d21." It contained folders for Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk e-mail, Sent Items, and an OEACCOUNT file. I go to C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail. Thanks so much for your help and patience and sorry it is taking me so long to figure this out! I did set up the account again from scratch, but with your directions above hopefully I fixed that, but I can't tell for sure because now I am getting the same original error message that I started with! So let me walk through what I did and perhaps you can tell me if I misunderstood your directions?
#COMCAST INCOMING MAIL SERVER VISTA PASSWORD#
Server Response: -ERR Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (SSL/TLS) connections.īut the same user name and password that work to get into comcast webmail are not working in Live Mail.
It looks like you have a dual band router, but it looks like Comcast only. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account. To port forward on PS4, here is what you need to do: Select Settings on your. An incorrect email user name was entered. But Live Mail keeps refusing the password and wont let me connect to the mail server. I know the password I am using is correct because I can log on to my comcast webmail with this password. But now I am afraid I have run into another curious issue. OK, thanks! I was able to find the folders now and followed your directions.
